Our new total is $161,798.82 as of 9 a.m. this morning. This total, in US Dollars, now reflects the donations made in the U.S. and in Canada.
Speaking of Canada, I had a conference call with my colleagues from UNICEF Canada this morning. They heard from UNICEF Canada Ambassador Ben Mulroney, host of Canadian Idol, and asked me to pass along this message:
"We were excited to see Clay’s Canadian fans join this campaign with such enthusiasm and generosity," said Ben Mulroney. "Thank you so much to Clay and all his fans for your support!"

Oh my gosh! Can we say at least $200,000 by the end of the 10 days? I sure hope so. What a fantastic opportunity to be able to open our hearts and our wallets to Clay's appeal for Afghanistan. Thank you Clay, Unicef, and Claymates! How very proud I am to be Clay Aiken fan (Claymate), a Unicef member, and friends of "like lots" of Claymates!

This is so fantastic!
Just saw video of Clay on ET's website and hope that spreading awareness of the needs of the children of Afghanistan through the media will bring in more donations.
Just wrote my sixth blog about the fund-raising campaign and I am continuing to contact friends, family and my professional associates in entertainment to ask for donations.
Let's keep going for $200,000!

Yay! Canada!
It is so gratifying to see this total continue to grow. I'm so thrilled that these children may have the opportunity for an education.
Sending many best wishes to the Unicef workers on the ground who are working so hard to accomplish these goals and to our Canadian troops as well as those from all the other countries that are risking their lives to build a better life for the Afghani people.
To Clay - you're an inspiration and a very good man.

I feel so blessed to be in the company of so many wonderful people who have supported this cause. Clay Aiken has done so much in bringing light onto an otherwise unknown problem in the world......the thurst for a good education in war torn regions of the world. I think Unicef chose the perfect Ambassador when they chose Clay.

Thank you for the update. And for the previous fieldnotes showing the concrete ways that this money will be used. It's wonderful and amazing to see what we can accomplish when we join together.
What's even more cool is the heightened level of awareness this campaign brings to all of Clay's fans. Awareness that hopefully seeps into our daily actions.
Thank you UNICEF.

Thank you to the citizens of the US and Canada working together to help UNICEF by accepting Clay's challenge. And also thanks to Clay and UNICEF.
I can envision a cargo plane stocked full with school supplies, tents and water pumps on its way to Afghanistan. What a great gift to the Afghanistan children.

UNICEF made the best decision hiring Clay Aiken.
Someday, I want to see his name honored up there alongside Danny Kaye, Audrey Hepburn & Peter Ustinov, who were some of the most beloved Ambassadors.
