We’re proud of our many Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF partners, and our partnership with Key Club International is one for which we are especially grateful, as Key Clubbers last year raised over $750,000 in support of the Swazi Children Care Project through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF and plan to raise more this fall.
In Swaziland, a small, landlocked country in southern Africa, 33.4 percent of the adult population is infected with HIV/AIDS, and the disease has left thousands of children orphaned and at risk.
Key Club’s Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF funds are designated to the Swazi Children Care Project, which supports UNICEF’s work to empower Swaziland’s communities and care for the country’s children who have been rendered vulnerable by the pandemic. The Swazi Children Care Project is an innovative program where community volunteers are trained to provide health services, nutritious meals and care to the children of Swaziland.
Each Key Club, and Builders Club and K-Kids Club was sent a Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF kit earlier this fall. If you need additional supplies, call 800-KIWANIS, and for more information about Key Club’s involvement with Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa, please visit www.keyclub.org and www.unicefusa.org/keyclub.
