I've blogged about Key Club International before, the largest high school service organization in the world and its incredible support of UNICEF's programs. Earlier this year, I accompanied four Key Club representatives to Uruguay to learn more about the program. The hope is that they motivate their peers to Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF this Halloween. Watch the video to see how Jared, one of the four, is spreading the word.
Key Club, a service leadership program of Kiwanis International, is the oldest and largest service program for high school students, and gives its members opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership skills. Key Club attributes its success to the fact that it is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through serving others.
Since 1994, Key Club has raised nearly $5 million for UNICEF. This year, the campaign will support Operation Uruguay: Protecting the Rights of Children, which works to ensure the rights of vulnerable youth to education, health and basic services.
