Chloë Grace Moretz: Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF this Halloween!
Halloween! The absolute best. It’s got to be my favorite holiday. Design an outrageous costume. Put on crazy make-up. Become a totally different person or a completely wild creature. Do a total transformation. Then head out into the mystery of the night!
I love to dress up and express myself. Can you tell? That’s why I love Halloween. And I guess I’m pretty lucky. As an actress, I express myself through unique characters all the time. I’ve had all kinds of different movie roles. I’ve played a kid vampire. I’ve been a girl with psychic powers. In one film, I was even a purple-wigged crime fighter.
That’s one great part about my job as an actress—working on a film set can feel a lot like Halloween. Still, nothing beats the real thing, the excitement that only happens on October 31st. And one thing makes Halloween more special yet: taking all that imagination and expression and fun, and turning it into power—the power to save kids’ lives.
That’s why I am so excited to be the 2012 Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Ambassador! To me, there’s nothing quite so amazing as Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. For more than 60 years, it’s how so many of America’s kids have celebrated Halloween. We go door-to-door collecting money for UNICEF. We raise money that does so much good. We pay for food, medicine, clean water, and lots more to help kids in dozens and dozens of countries. That’s real power. Yes, collecting candy is cool, but Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is so much more. Something really, really special.
This fall, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is special in a whole new way. The old orange Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF boxes have gotten a makeover with wild characters: a monster, black cat, a princess, a pumpkin, a witch, and my fave—the vampire. And we can express ourselves more than ever, by designing our own customized UNICEF boxes. There’s a competition, too. It’s called the “Create-a-Character” contest, and it runs until October 26. Take a photo of your custom box and submit it online at trickortreatforunicef.org. Winning designs will become part of Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF’s 2013 collection!
So if you love Halloween like I do—and having the power to really make a difference in other kid’s lives—don’t wait! Order your TOT collection box. Express yourself. Use your creativity. Use your power to help kids all around the world!
On behalf of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and myself, have a safe and SPOOK-TACULAR Halloween!

I have been trying to order bags for my five grand children to trick or treat for UNICF, but have not been able to get my information to you on my computer. Is it too late to be mailed the information I need?
