Kiwanis International members do extraordinary work in their local and global communities every day. We are excited that the White House recently welcomed Kiwanis International and honored 14 Kiwanis and Kiwanis family members from across the country as “Champions of Change.” The “Champions of Change” program was created to honor ordinary Americans who do great work in their communities. As part of a day-long event at the White House, the honorees had the opportunity to share their stories with Administration officials and Kiwanis members around the globe. They also met legislators at a congressional reception the previous evening.

The honorees, ranging in age from 11 to 85, engaged in a wide variety of innovative service activities, many focusing on helping children. Several of those honored participated in efforts to advance The Eliminate Project as well as the iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) campaign. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF is honored to partner with Kiwanis on these global efforts to save and improve the lives of children. We believe in ZERO children having to suffer or die from diseases we can prevent.

We in the UNICEF family salute our Kiwanis friends for the honors they have received from the White House on behalf of the American people. They are an inspiration to all of us. We are proud to be their partners!
