Championing for Children in Chile

Aimee Doe is one of the Champions for Children for UNICEF’s Change for Good program on American Airlines.

I have been a Flight Attendant with American Airlines for over 18 years and am currently based in Los Angeles, CA. I have been a Champion since 2006. I recently had the opportunity to join UNICEF representatives and other Champions on a field visit to Chile. On this trip I was able to learn about the role of UNICEF in Chile and see firsthand their disaster relief efforts following the devastating February 27, 2010, earthquake, as well as their ongoing commitment to the protection of children’s rights. Twenty-five percent of the funds Champions for Children collected in 2009 benefited UNICEF’s relief and recovery efforts for children in Chile.

A Million plus thanks to Champions and American Airlines customers

— Hi, this is Lynette Erskine and I am a “Champion for Children” for UNICEF’s Change for Good program on American Airlines. As an American Airlines flight attendant based at New York’s JFK Airport, I am able to volunteer my time while on the job to collect donations of foreign and domestic currency from AA customers to help UNICEF save children’s lives, which is something that is very near and dear to my heart.

Thanks a million+, American Airlines Champions for Children!

— Thanks to the dedication of American Airlines (AA) employee volunteers and the generosity of AA customers, UNICEF’s Change for Good Program on American Airlines, proudly supported by Airline Ambassadors International, reaches new heights!

On Wednesday, March 9 at 10 am, travelers can join with AA in a special “Thanks a Million+” celebration at New York’s JFK Airport in Terminal 8 to commemorate this milestone fundraising achievement. AA will treat its customers to giveaways and have a special ceremony to extend its thanks and recognition to customers and employees for raising a record-breaking $1.6+ million for UNICEF in 2010.
