Attention mobile users: UNICEF Tap Project National Sponsor Giorgio Armani Fragrances is introducing an opportunity for UNICEF supporters to use their phones for good this September to support UNICEF’s clean water programs for children. From September 1-30, for every person who texts “ACQUA” to UNICEF (864233) and donates $5 to support the UNICEF Tap Project, Giorgio Armani Fragrances will match each donation, thereby doubling texters’ impact.

The post Giorgio Armani Fragrances Offers UNICEF Supporters a Chance to Text for Good appeared first on UNICEF FieldNotes.

Children stand and watch as volunteers unload large, black plastic boxes from a UNICEF truck at the Child Friendly Space where they come each day to play, learn, and just be kids.

Two years after most of them lost their homes and some, their families, the delivery of these supplies marks the launch of Art in a Bag or 'bwat Atis' in Creole - a new art therapy program created by UNICEF to provide displaced and impoverished children with a creative way of healing.

I check out all my recommendations on charitynavigator.org. All receive a top rating.”

Being able to witness UNICEF’s work in Honduras was very meaningful to me. I got involved and went on this trip because of my son-in-law, Matt, who encouraged our family to support UNICEF. Matt passed away recently, and our support for UNICEF is a memorial to him. I think he would be deeply proud of what is happening in Honduras.

The post Why I give: UNICEF’s work in Honduras appeared first on UNICEF FieldNotes.

I end where I began, with gratitude for all of you who stay informed, donate, spread the word and offer prayers, thoughts and love to the children affected. When each of us gives a little bit of ourselves, we become part of something very powerful. Collectively, we are making it possible for children to survive the unimaginable. “Thank you” is not enough.

We wanted to invest our resources in children's lives and a deferred charitable gift annuity seemed like a good way to give today. A deferred charitable gift annuity is a practical way to make sure that we are making a significant contribution in the present and also securing income for our own future. In these uncertain economic times, it is really the ideal tool to fit our donating goals. We are able to commit considerable resources to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and still make sure we have provided for our retirement.
